Research and Practice

What does it mean to be a scholar?  In some ways, being a scholar means studying existing practices, structures and behaviors so that some broader community has a better understanding of how it functions and operates.  While I feel my scholarly agenda at Millersville certainly fits this description, I have also worked to innovate and change the structures and processes that I study.  I work to combine my research interests with my teaching roles at Millersville.  While this may not be the traditional avenue for scholarly work, my research has certainly informed my teaching practices and contributed in a large degree to the mission at Millersville and the surrounding community.
